If you braved the winter storm and joined the First Farmers ag lending team and a group of excellent speakers on Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2022, you weren’t disappointed. Thanks to the our partnership with Walton Webcasting, we were also able to bring the speakers’ presentations to a virtual audience as well. Either way, this year’s Ag Summit gave all in attendance more than a few subjects to think about.
We started the day with Josh Linville, from StoneX Financial, Inc. Josh’s expertise is in the fertilizer market, and the pricing, planning, and strategy involved with this fundamental part of agriculture. All crop operations grow from here. Josh was informative and entertaining, offering advice about how to make decisions – logically.
Next, David Widmar of Agricultural Economic Insights discussed the farm economy and the larger agricultural and economic trends on a national and global level and how they will affect the individual producer.
Kala Jenkins of KCoe Isom took us through the challenges and opportunities we’re likely to face as we move into the 2022 growing season and beyond. Kala’s background in strategic and operational planning and risk management were apparent throughout the presentation.
We ended the day with David Okerlund. David’s expertise comes down to two things – working hard and attitude. He’s been a speaker, teacher, and inspirational leader for over 20 years. His message about dedication, grit, and humor was the perfect way to wrap up the 2022 Ag Summit.
If you weren’t able to attend, you can still watch the recording and take a look at the presentations by visiting www.ffbt.com/ag-summit. We are excited about the year ahead, both the opportunities and challenges, and are committed to being the financial partner that is dedicated to helping our agricultural clients grow and be successful.
